When You’re Exhausted

A lot of clients tell me, “I’m so exhausted, and I don’t know why!” They are getting enough sleep, yet still feel groggy in the morning or need five cups of coffee to get through the day.

If so, here are some hacks to support your energy throughout the day.

  • Make sure you are eating enough protein, especially in the morning – Even if you increase your protein intake slightly, you will support your energy and minimize that afternoon slump.
  • Add some collagen to your coffee or tea – Add a boost to your hot drink in the afternoon to get some more protein.
  • Sip on dandelion – Dandelion tea supports the liver’s ability to detoxify, so drink up!
  • Skip the workout and get outside – Skipping one workout might improve your overall fitness because you will reduce your body’s stress load. Getting outside in nature, even for just 15 minutes, boosts mood, lowers cortisol, and increases productivity.
  • Take a 20-minute nap – Taking a 10-30 minute nap can be refreshing and won’t interfere with nighttime sleep.
  • Chew, chew, chew – Make sure you are sitting to eat and that you are chewing your food thoroughly to absorb nutrients.

These small things can make a BIG difference in energy.
